Viv, Grandma, Grandpa and I drove up to Skagit Valley Saturday, the 19th of February. We heard that the Snow Geese were out in the thousands. Sure enough we found a big flock of them. I tried to photo a group as they flew over, but I couldn't hold the camera still enough to get rid of the blur.
So I settled with some on the ground.
I had to take a couple of shots of Grandma to show you how helpless and decrepit a ninety one year old woman looks like. She celebrated her birthday this week but never slows down.
She might take a nap once-in-a-while, but she sure does more than her share of work.
Grandpa went to the Ophthalmologist to get his eyes checked because he is having a harder time reading. He was told that he was experiencing "Macular Degeneration". He was given direction to begin taking a new vitamin pill and to start wearing sun glasses when he is outside. Here he was taking a walk today before church on another sunshiny day. Not bad for a soon to be 93 year old either!
Even Harry enjoyed the sunshine. Not bad for a lazy 6 year old dog.
Here is the temperature yesterday, February 19th. The weatherman said normal for this time of the year is 50 degrees.
I think Viv especially likes the weather, although it is still colder than she likes it.
Well as you can tell all is well here. We are saddened to hear this past week of the passing of Uncle Leo. Some wonderful things were said in Priesthood class about him. As highly as people think of others in life, they realize how much better they are after they are gone.
It is finally warmer here too. I really love the pictures you posted. I miss you so much. I love that you blog. I really love the picture of MOM!! She looks so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThose are great pictures, Dad. Sorry to hear about Uncle Leo, but I sure bet Dorothy is glad to see him. :) Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your pictures!! Thanks so much for sharing your lives with us.
ReplyDeleteAunt Helen and Uncle John are so incredible. Love them so much.
Uncle Leo was a wonderful man. You're right, we wait sometimes and say those things after people are dead. So, in light of that, Dave we sure do love and appreciate you!! You are such a good person and we feel so blessed to have you in our lives. Thank you for being you!! We love you!!
Grandma and Grandpa look so good! Mom is beautiful and even Harry looks well. I'm sorry to hear about Uncle Leo, he's kind of like a second grandpa to us. He was always around when we'd come to visit.
